Customizing your List of Favorite Channels

Always-On lets subscribers customize a list of favorite channels. Club Owners or Event Venue Owners can use this feature to store a list of Music URLs for the DJs or Musicians that perform on their land. Private Parcel owners use this feature to store a list of favorite channels. The favorite list is in the Favorites genre on the main menu. You can modify the favorites list from the Options button on the main menu.

Entering a Music URL to Play

The Music URL is that of an MP3 Stream. These is the same URL as can be seen in a Win Amp, Windows Media Player, or iTunes. From last check Second Life supports MP3 also known as audio/mpeg streams. Second life does not support AAC or audio/aacp streams.

Always on can only add or delete Internet Radio Stations that are already playing your land parcel. This is the best way to validate a stream before you add it to your favorite list. Once you get the URL playing then you can add it.

There are basically three ways to enter a stream. You can enter stream in the Sound Tab of the about Land page. You can also use the Always On Tuner to enter a stream that will play on your land. Finally you can enter a stream by simply select any channel we offer in the catalog.

Enter Stream URL in About Land

1. Move your avatar onto the same parcel as the radio.
2. Right click on the Land and select About Land
3. Alternatively Select your viewer World -> About Land menu item.
4. When the About Land appears then select the Sound tab.
5. Type or paste in the Music URL into the provided entry field then hit the enter or tab key on your keyboard.

Enter Stream URL in Tuners Options Menu

1. Touch the tuner and the menu will pop-up.
2. Select the Options button.
3. Click on the Enter Stream button
4. Type or paste in the Music URL into the provided entry field then hit the Submit button.
5. After a few moments the stream will start to play.

Enter Stream URL by Selecting from the Always On Catalog Channel

1. Touch the tuner and the menu will pop-up.
2. Select a music genre and a menu of stations will pop-up.
3. Select a station and the Always On selector does the rest.

Add a Radio Station to your Favorites

1. Touch the Always On tuner and the menu will pop-up.
2. Select the Options button.
3. Click on the Add Favorite button
4. Enter a title for this favorite or allow Always On to assign one automatically by leaving the entry field blank.
5. Click on the Submit button.
6. Always on attempts to add the currently playing Music URL to your favorite list.
7. The Always on Service confirms the update or gives you an error message.

Once your favorite has been added successfully it will be available in the favorites genre.

Play a Radio Station in your Favorites

1. Touch the Always On tuner and the menu will pop-up.
2. Click on the More Genre button until the Favorites genre appears.
3. Click on the Favorites Button and your favorites list will appear.
4. Click on the Music Channel you want to play.

Removing a Radio Station from your Favorites

1. Touch the Always On tuner and the menu will pop-up.
2. Select the Options button.
3. Click on the Del Favorite button.
4. Always on tries to remove the currently playing Music URL from your favorite list.
5. The Always on Service confirms the update or gives you an error message.
